Kerala which was the first state in India to report Covid-19 case and also had high number of positive Covid-19 cases in India, has notched up the best recovery rate in the country.
Since the beginning, Kerala’s approach was effective because it was both strict and humane, they adopted all the possible measures to control the spread. Even before the lockdown was imposed in the country, Kerala announced a package worth $2.6 billion to fight Covid-19.
Sources claim that, Kerala has conducted more than 13,000 tests, which accounts for 10 percent of all tests done across India.
They adopted Aggressive testing, isolating, tracing, drone cameras, testing booths and also effective treatment measures.
Also, the state sees highest number of foreign arrivals, hence, screening at airports was tightened, and travelers from various countries were required to quarantine at home starting on Feb. 10, which is two weeks before India put similar restrictions into place. Temporary quarantine shelters were established to accommodate tourists and other nonresidents.
The recovery rate of the state is considered to be the highest in India. Of the 375 corona positive cases confirmed in the state, 179 patients have been recovered.
Initially 7 districts were identified as Covid-19 hotspots, Kasaragod, Kannur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Thrissur, Ernakulam and Thiruvananthapuram. Currently, Kasaragod and Kannur have the highest number of patients under treatment and both districts are under rigid restrictions.
