Obsessive compulsive disorder has been classified as a mental disorder and can be a disruptive condition to live with. Lot of people are still not fully aware of this disorder.
Here are things you should know about Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
OCD is chronic. There are chances that you can get it under control but there is no cure and it will be there in the background as it is assumed to be genetic.
OCD can make a sufferer doubt even the most basic things about themselves, others, or the world they live in and it is what causes sufferers to check things many times or ask endless questions.
Having obsessive thoughts or compulsive behaviors does not mean that you have obessive-compulsive disorder. With OCD, these thoughts and behaviors cause tremendous distress and affect daily life.
One can have an obsessive thought at any time or any place and don’t be surprised when old or even new ones occur. Don’t let it throw you.
Ordinary therapy talk will not be enough to deal with OCD and it is said that Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is the best form of treatment for OCD.
