Thiruvananthapuram: A man carried his 65-year-old father from hospital to their home after police denied permission to travel in an autorickshaw amid the lockdown on Wednesday, April 15.

The man claimed that his father was discharged from the Punalur taluk hospital and the police stopped him even after showing hospital papers.

A video of the man carrying his father with a woman holding bags following them went viral on social media.

However, according to the police statement, when the autorickshaw was stopped there was no patient inside. They asked for a declaration document. He then walked to the hospital 200 meters away from the rickshaw and carried away his father in his arms.

Kerala State Human Rights Commission has registered a case.
