Mangaluru: In the backdrop of Dakshina Kannada district being classified as a Covid 19 hotspot by the Union Health Ministry the second phase of the lockdown is being strictly implemented in the district.
A total of 265 vehicles were seized on Thursday, April 16 for plying on the streets though the district administration has strictly warned against it. Twelve autorickshaw, 75 cars and 178 two wheelers have been seized today while around 106 vehicles were seized on Wednesday, April 15.
City police commissioner Dr Harsha in an earlier tweet had said that no private vehicles should ply on the streets.
However people are taking out their vehicles thus forcing the police to initiate action against the violators.
