Facebook is offering a new heart-warming reaction to bring friends and family closer together. The social media app will debut a new emoji to use on its platforms, the ‘care’ emoji.
The new emoji, featuring the standard emoji avatar hugging a heart, will be available on Facebook and Facebook Messenger.
The reaction on Facebook will be available to show compassion on status updates, messages, photos or videos while on Messenger. Users can click the vibrating heart “when a regular heart does not feel like enough.”
Facebook’s EMEA comms manager, Alexander Voica said on Twitter. “We know this is an uncertain time, and we wanted people to be able to show their support in ways that let their friends and family know they are thinking of them.”
Rolling out globally from next week, users will be able to send a hug reaction on posts and photos shared on the platform.
