Mangaluru: Rowdy sheeter, out on bail, attacked by knife

Mangaluru: Dheeraj Poojary (27), serving sentence for murder and out on bail, was attacked by the alleged allies of his victim on April 16 at Tannirbhavi on the outskirts of the city.
Two years ago, Dheeraj was the prime accused in the murder of another rowdy sheeter Bharatesh’s relative Shivraj.
On the evening of April 17, Dheeraj was outside his house when the alleged allies of Shivraj arrived on a scooter, held caught Dheeraj and attempted to attack him with a knife. However, Dheeraj shouted alerting the neighbours who arrived on the scene. The attacker duo ran from the scene after the neighbours were alerted, allegedly warning Dheeraj that he will be killed publicly.
A case has been registered at Panambur police station.
