Covid 19: 3-yr-old reunited with mother after 21 days of separation

Belagavi: A three-year-old girl, whose video had gone viral few days back was reinited with her mother, Sugandha on Saturday, April 18 after nearly 21 days of separation.

In the viral video, the girl named Aishwarya was seen crying and pleading her mother to return home with them. Sugandha, who happens to a nurse was posted on duty in the COVID-19 ward of Belagavi Institute of Medical Sciences. Chief Minister Yediyurappa after seeing the video had called Sugandha and lauded her dedication towards her work.

As per the protocols, Sugandha had to undergo the 14-day quarantine period. She was allowed to go home on Saturday after her samples tested negative.

Aishwarya’s joy knew no bounds on seeing Sugandha, who could not hold back her tears at that moment. Scenes of their reunion shows Aishwarya consoling her mother by wiping her tears and flashing her innocent smile

Speaking to reporters, Sugandha said that she was happy to be reunited with her daughter. This is the first time that I have been away from her and the family for this long period, she said.

She added that she has to resume duty from April 21 at the hospital and was hoping that she gets to serve in some other ward so she can return home daily. However she mentioned that she was mentally prepared to serve in the Covid 19 ward again if she gets posted there.
