Covid-19 warriors: 4 women who are selflessly working amid Covid-19 lockdown in K’taka

Many people are suffering as the Covid-19 lockdown disrupts supply chain. Government and many other generous people are doing their best to provide essentials to the needy across the country.

Now, women warriors too are taking charge and extending their help towards the people of India. Here is a list of 5 women warriors who are doing their bit without batting an eyelid

Sudha Murty

Sudha Murty has always been at the forefront in helping people of the country amid any crisis. Now, even during the pandemic she has come forward to help people and government.

Sudha Murty along with their family have committed to offer Rs 10 crore from their personal funds toward Akshaya Patra Foundation for relief work related to coronavirus pandemi

She has written a letter to the Karnataka government regarding the Covid-19 outbreak. She has requested the concerned authorities to vacate one government hospital with at least 500-700 beds for this purpose which would require making oxygen lines and pipes available.

Also, Infosys Foundation, the philanthropic and CSR arm of software giant Infosys has volunteered to do the civil work.

Sudha Murty has also actively involved in the distribution of food kits to the needy amid Covid-19.

Ragini Dwivedi

Kannada actress Ragini Dwivedi has also stepped out of her house to help the needy. She has distributed essentials items to many poor families of the state.

Ragini opened up a cloud kitchen named ‘RD Kitchen’ to cater to the medical staff at Victoria Hospital and arranged 250 packs of lunch and 150 packs dinner for health workers in Victoria hospital.

Speaking to Udayavani.com about her initiative Rajini said, “RD Kitchen initiative aims to provide healthy and tasty meals to all the COVID-19 health warriors who are working really hard so that we can stay safe at home.”

“We are preparing nutritious meals at home and sending it to the Victoria hospital for all the doctors and nurses working there, we are glad that the hospital agreed to accept our little contribution,” she added

Ragini is also feeding over 200 cows and promised farmers that she would help them during the lockdown period as they are finding it difficult to feed their cows due to high prices of feed.

Apart from that, Ragini has recognised the relentless efforts of the police force and also distributed food to those on duty.

Vinita Aggarwal

Vinita Agarwal along with her husband Sanjay Agarwal are making masks and distributing it to the people for free in Bengaluru.

India is currently facing shortage of PPE kits and masks as the country fights the novel coronavirus pandemic

Vinita and her husband have made over 7,000 masks and distributed them across the city.

Mahita Nagaraj

Mahita Nagaraj started Caremongers India, under which volunteers provide medicines and grocery to senior citizens, needy and physically challenged people.

Mahita Nagaraj is a digital marketing professional from Shantinagar,.She organized volunteers to get medicines and other essentials for senior citizens.

In 48 hours of setting up their Facebook group, their members went from zero to 2000 and within 24 hours of setting up their phone helpline, they have got 400 calls.
