COVID-19 lockdown: KSRTC sufferes Rs 816 cr loss

Bengaluru: It is estimated that the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSTRC) has incurred a loss of Rs 816.23 crore due to the lockdown.

All forms of public transportation in the State are shut down due to the lockdown. Four corporations that fall under KSRTC have suffered heavy losses.

KSRTC has lost Rs 314.89 crore, Northwest Karnataka State Transport Corporation Rs 172.00 crore, Northeast Karnataka State Transport Corporation Rs 180.00 crore and Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation Rs 149.34 crore.

If the lockdown continues beyond May 3 then the Transport Corporations will suffer further financial damages.
