Udupi: Burglary at bar; Rs 1.5 lakh worth of liquor stolen

Kota: A theft of liquor worth Rs 1.5 lakhs has been reported from Chakravarthi Bar at Hangarkatte near here.

The thieves made away with 3 boxes containing 44.250 litres of beer and 31 boxes containing 266.735 litres of other liquors.

The thieves broke into the bar from a rear window and the tiled roof.

The bar owner, on learning of the burglary, reported it at the Kota police station and to  Excise officials who reached the spot and after examination registered a case.

A CCTV footage at the front of the bar didn’t capture the culprits as they broke in from the rear of the bar, except recording a distant view of two people arriving on a scooter.
