Uttar Pradesh brought back 4 lakh workers in 4 days from Delhi border who were struggling without food and water amid coronavirus lockdown.

It is said that on March 27, UP CM Yogi Adityanath, ordered for 1,000 buses to reach the Delhi-UP border to bring back workers.

Next morning, around 600 buses were ready on the Delhi border and the government decided to move 100 buses every hour.

On the first two days,  March 28 and 29, 2,000 buses carrying workers had left for destination. But as the gathering at the border was huge, on March 30–31, around 600–700 additional buses were sent to the Delhi  border.

Nearly four lakh people were transported from Delhi to UP. The Buses made 6,489 trips, and all the drivers and conductors were provided masks and sanitisers. Also, health check ups were done of all the workers when they reached UP and all of them were quarantined and sent home after 14 days.
