M’luru, Udupi: No carryover of PMUY’s monthly quota

Mangaluru: The cooking gas cylinder quota of new beneficiaries for the month of April under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) will not be carried forward to the next month informed the nodal officer for the Yojana in Daksinha Kannada district.

There are 48,700 and 25,000 beneficiaries of the Yojana in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts respectively. Only 50% of these new beneficiaries have used their cylinder refill quota for the month of April.

For new beneficiaries, the government will supply gas cylinders free of charge for April, May and June. The refill amount has already been transferred to the beneficiary’s account.

Beneficiaries must book their refills before April 30 to get the refills in April quota. From May 1, refill bookings will be deducted from May’s refill quota.

Most beneficiaries have supposedly not booked new refills as the existing cylinders have not yet been emptied.
