Fact Check: Is Heineken offering free beer?

Team Udayavani, Apr 27, 2020, 1:07 PM IST

Amid lockdown, all the bar outlets have been closed and since then there have been many scams and fake messages circulating on social media. Now, a WhatsApp forward asked users to fill out a one-minute survey for a chance at winning four kegs of Heineken beers.

However, it has been confirmed by Heineken that the message being shared on WhatsApp is a scam and no such offer is being made by the company.

The link in the message redirects the user to a website purporting to offer discount mobiles in an attempt to gather personal details. These scams are done with the intention of phishing and stealing private information. Scammers can earn when people waste their time on one click.
