Kolar: Excise Minister H Nagesh said that the liquor outlets in Karnataka might stay shut even after May 3.
Speaking to reporters, Nagesh said, ” The Prime Minister had rejected the proposal by Punjab government to grant permission to reopen liquor outlets in CMs meeting on Monday. The same might be applicable in our state as well.”
Nagesh also said that the Excise department is in need of funds to give salary to the staff and he requested Cheif Minister BS Yediyurappa to grant permission to open liquor outlets in Green Zones in the state. However, they would get clarity on this only after May 3.
