Boloor area declared as containment zone after woman tests Covid+ve

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh, in a notification issued on Thursday, April 30 declared the specific area of Boloor village in Mangaluru as a containment zone.
This move comes after a woman, aged 58, from the area tested positive for coronavirus.
The containment zone, comprising of 135 houses, 12 shops with a total population of 640 is bound by the following boundaries:
In addition to this, a buffer zone of an area of five km around the containment zone has been created, bound by
The buffer zone has 16,350 houses and 1,275 shops and offices, covering a population of 79,800 people.
For effective implementation of coronavirus control measures, Executive Engineer-3, Smart City Ltd Mangaluru has been appointed incident commander who will be in-charge of the containment zone, the order stated.
