Everyone knows that what we eat affects our mental and physical health and that is why we need to eat well. But also, there are certain things you should not do after having lunch or dinner in order to avoid indigestion, discomfort, and absorption of nutrients.

Here are 6 things you should not do after eating

1.Always wait 30 minutes after a meal in order to take a shower as digestion needs a lot of energy and when you take a shower, the blood tends to rush to the skin in order to regulate the temperature of the body which often creates digestive problems

2.If you exercise right after eating a heavy meal, your digestive process will be disrupted which can cause vomiting, stomach puffiness and loose motions.

3.Laying down after eating causes your stomach to burn excessively, leading to discomfort and sleeping irregularities.

4.Avoid eating fruits after a meal. As they require different enzymes to digest, it is best to eat fruit on an empty stomach to allow maximum absorption. If you eat it right after a meal, it won’t be digested properly.

5.Avoid cold water after a meal as it does not let the food digest properly because it causes clumping of food. Hot warm water helps absorbs nutrients better.

6.Tea shouldn’t be consumed after a meal as it can interfere with the iron absorption in your body as tea contains tannic acid which binds to the iron and protein from our food.
