Do not want to convert Dakshina Kannada into Nanjangud: KPCC Spokesperson

Mangaluru: In the backdrop of three coronavirus related casualties in Dakshina Kannada, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee Spokesperson P V Mohan urged the district administration to trace the source of coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada district.
Mohan asked the district administration to ascertain the actual source of infection for a woman from Bantwal’s Kasba who tested positive for the virus on April 19.
“We do not want to convert Dakshina Kannada into Nanjangud,” Mohan said referring to the mysterious case of Patient 52 from Nanjangud who has been identified as the main source of virus to the rest of the positive individuals in Nanjangud.
Surrounding areas of hospital in Padil, Shaktinagar and Boloor have been declared containment zones. The hospital has also emrged as a hotspot of the Covid-19, he added
The government should order a probe into the cause of spread of coronavirus in Dakshina Kannada,’’ Mohan demanded adding that a KAS-rank officer should be appointed to monitor the Covid-19 designated hospital.
