Mumbai BMC Commissioner replaced amid rising COVID-19 cases in the city

Mumbai: In backdrop of the rising cases of coronavirus in Mumbai, the city’s civic body Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) that is in charge of the city’s COVID-19 response replaced its commissioner.
In a major bureaucratic change, Praveen Pardeshi was replaced by Iqbal Chahal. The former has been transferred to the urban development department.
The city has more than 11,000 coronavirus cases and over 400 deaths have been reported.
