Five, including 3 TJ members test Covid +ve; state tally rises to 794

Bengaluru: Five more persons tested positive for coronavirus taking the tally of infected persons to 794 in the state.

A total of 41 new cases have been confirmed from last evening to today evening, the health department said.

One case each has been reported from Bhatkal and Chikkaballarpura while the other three cases are from Tumkuru.

Contact tracing has begun for 71-year-old male from Chikkaballarpura. The three persons from Tumkuru had a travel history to Ahmedabad.

As many as 33 persons from Tumkuru and Chitradurga, who attended a Tabbhilgi Jamaat programme had returned to the state earlier this week. Six persons from Chitradurga, part of this group have tested positive for the virus.

Till date 794 confirmed cases are reported in the state. This includes 30 deaths and 386 discharges.
