Two more Covid-19 positive cases reported in Dakshina Kannada; state toll rises to 904

Bengaluru/Mangaluru: Two more positive cases of Covid-19 were reported Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, May 12, and 40 positive cases were reported from other districts of the state taking the total numbers of cases in the state to 904.

Out of 42 new cases reported today, fourteen were from Bagalkote, nine from Dharwad, fice from Hassan, three cases from Bengaluru, two cases each Dakshina Kannada, Yadagir and from Bidar and one each case from Mandya, Kalaburagi, Chikkaballapura, and Bellari.

Among the cases, 25 are with travel history to Ahmedabad in Gujarat, six are with travel history to Mumbai in Maharashtra, seven are contacts of patients already tested positive, two are from containment zone in Bidar, one with history of Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and the others contact is under tracing.

At least four out of these 42 cases are children. Interestingly, Hassan that had not reported a single case so far, has confirmed five new infections.

Two people from Dakshina Kannada who were tested positive today contracted the infection from patient number 507.

Till date 904 cases were reported in the state including 31 death and 426 discharges.
