Mangaluru: National flag hoisted upside down on speed boat

Mangaluru: In an act of disrespect towards the national tricolour, the owner of a speed boat is alleged to have hoisted the flag upside down while sailing in River Netravathi at Bolar.

The accused a resident of Ranipura had retired as a captain of a ship.

Even though local residents pointed out that the flag was upside down, the owner ignored them whereafter they lodged a complaint about this act to Coastal Security Police and local MLA.

Taking to Twitter, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath drew the attention of the district administration and city police commissioner to this alleged offense and urged them to take strict action against the owner of the boat.
