Davanagere: Two arrested for posing as police officers to extort money from drivers

Davanagere: The police have arrested two men for posing as police and extorting money from drivers.
The accused has been identified as Manjunath, resident of Chikkammanahatti and Siddesh, resident of Kudlagi, and fire emergency department employee. Another man person who was along with them, Prakash have fled from the spot.
As per sources, the three men were stopping bike and car drivers claiming that they are police in Gadimakunte village in Jagaluru Taluk in the district.
They used to threaten the drivers that they don’t have the pass and threaten them to pay money instead of getting arrested.
Acting upon confirmed information, the police have arrested the two men and another person has fled from the spot.
A case has been registered at Jagaluru Police Station in this regard.
