Covid-19: 20 of 45 new cases are Dubai returnees; K’taka tally crosses 1k

Bengaluru: A total of 45 new cases has been confirmed in the state taking the tally of infected persons to 1032 in the state.
The new cases includes 16 from Dakshina Kannada, five from Udupi, 13 from Bengaluru, Hassan and Bidar reported three cases each, Chitradurga reported two cases while Bagalkote, Kolar and Shivamogga one case each.
Notably, barring the SARI case of a 68-year-old female from Dakshina Kannada, the others including five cases of Udupi are passengers who returned from Dubai as part of the repatriation exercise.
Cases from Bengaluru, Bagalkote and Bidar were contacts of those infected earlier. Cases reported from Shivamogga and Hassan were those with travel history to Mumbai while that from Kolar and Chitradurga had travel history to Chennai.
Till date, 1032 cases have been confirmed. This includes 476 discharges and 35 deaths.
