Muthappa Rai’s funeral next to his first wife’s grave

Bengaluru: The body of Jai Karnataka founder and former underworld ganglord Muttappa Rai, who died of illness on May 15, has been taken to his home surrounded by a heavy blanket of police security.

A police vehicle was deployed in the front of the hearse and a KSRP unit was behind it. No one was allowed to pay their respects to the body while moving on the road.

The flags of Jai Karnataka organization were strung all along the road.

Hundreds of activists participated in the parade. Police were seen instructing them to maintain social distancing and wear facemasks.

According to sources close to Rai, family members decided to make arrangements for his funeral next to his first wife’s grave Magadi.
