Udupi: Confusion on govt relief package

Udupi: The State government announced the emergency relief package on May 6, however many are still confused how, when and where will they receive it.
The Rs 1,610 crore package, announced by Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa, made a monetary allocation to farmers, weavers, artisans and registered building labourers.
The package included one-time payments to those most financially hurt by the lockdown.
However, beneficiaries are confused as the government has not issued a circular on how to get the benefits.
Savitha Seva Samaja in Udupi has collected the details of about 3,000 barbers which includes their Aadhar and bank account details. They have also collected details of about 3,600 taxi and maxi cab drivers.
Presently, the Seva Sindhu website where the beneficiaries have to register to receive the benefits under the package is only taking registrations for travel passes.
