Manipal: Kasturba Hosp receives approval to test samples for COVID-19

Manipal: The Kasturba Hospital has received approval from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) to conduct test for the detection of COVID-19.
Medical superintendent of the hospital Dr Avinash Shetty stated that the well-equipped testing laboratory will be ready before Tuesday, May 19.
He added that results of tests will be available in more or less 12 hours.
Presently, samples are sent to laboratories in Bengaluru, Hassan, Shimoga and Mangaluru for testing. It takes about 3-4 days for the results to reach Udupi.
