Most of the people suffer from oily skin. Oily skin is the result of the overproduction of sebum from sebaceous glands which are located under the skin’s surface.
Although Sebum is vital for keeping the skin healthy, too much sebum can lead to oily skin, clogged pores, and acne.
Here are 5 skincare tips to manage oily skin
1.Wash with a gentle soap and warm water and avoid soaps with added moisturizers, or harsh chemicals, which can irritate or dry out the skin, making it respond by creating more sebum
2.Use oil-free cosmetics. Always check the labels carefully and opt for ‘oil-free’ or ‘water-based’ cosmetics.
3.Use Konjac sponges for gentle exfoliation which are made with fibers from the roots of a yam-like vegetable as oily skin attracts dirt and dead skin and it is important to keep pores clean to avoid breakouts.
4.It is important to apply moisturizer to keep your skin hydrated. It is even better to opt for moisturizer with a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher.
5.Use blotting papers throughout the day. Gently press the paper against your face and leave it on for a few seconds to absorb the oil.
