Revised circular on containment zone in Bantwal

Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada Deputy commissioner Sindhu Rupesh on Friday, May 22 issued a revised notification regarding containment zones in Bantwal.
Since no cases of coronavirus was reported from Car Street area of Bantwal in the last 28 days, the seal down orders have been lifted there while Kasba village will be an active containment zone.
A release from the DC office stated: “In view of the power delegated to the Chairperson, District Disaster Management Authority under National Disaster Management Act (NDMA) 2005 by G.O. No. RD 157 TNR 2020 and in the exercise of the powers conferred under section 26, 30 and 34 of NDMA 2005, Government, and under relevant paras of notification issued under the Epidemic Disease Act 1897 by the State and as per Revised Circular No. CHS / 392 / 2020 dated: 21-05-2020 and the containment and buffer boundaries submitted by the Incident Commander, the DC has declared the area (Specific areas of B – Kasaba Village, Bantwal Taluk as shown in the sketch) as an Active Containment Zone for patient no. P – 578 / 777 / 778 / 779, who are COVED – 19 positive patients.
The containment area is bound by the following boundaries- residential house of Sadashiv Prabhu on the East, government gutter on the West, residential house of Ravichandra, son of Vitala on the North and residential house of Suresh Damodar Baliga on the South.
The buffer zone around this containment zone is bound by Main Road, Ratha Beedi on the East, SVS School Ground on the West, residential house of Shashikala w/o Prabhakar on the North, wife and Balaji service station on the South . This buffer zone has 97 residential houses, 12 shops and three offices. The total population of this area is 388.
For effective implementation of COVID-19 virus control measures, Tahsildar and Taluk Magistrate, Bantwal is appointed as the Incident Commander who will be overall in-charge of Containment Zone. The Incident Commander will take necessary actions as specified in the containment zone notification referred above.
