Udupi: We are fully equipped to tackle COVID-19, says DC Jagadeesha

Udupi: Deputy commissioner G Jagadeesha on Saturday, may 23 informed that the district administration has arranged all the facilities to tackle COVID-19.
Addressing presspersons Jagadish said, “For the past two months I have my conveyed video messages to keep you all updates about the COVID-19 updates of the district. I am thankful to all of you for conveying my message to the people on time.”
He further informed that so far the district has received nearly 8,010 people from various states who are natives of Udupi and all the people are sent to government allotted quarantine centres.
“Out of 8,010 people, 3,600 samples have been collected. Due to the increase in samples, we need more time for results. We were sending it to KMC Manipal, Yenepoya Mangaluru, SIMS Shivamogga, and Wenlock Mangaluru. Recently KMC Manipal started to test samples. They have assured to quicken the pace of testing,” he added.
“As of now most of the quarantine centers in the district are fully occupied. So we are not taking any entries from outside states. If any person tests positive in quarantine places, as per ICMR guidelines, it is not necessary to seal down such places,” said DC.
