Belagavi: Two women killed, one injured in road mishap

Belagavi: Two women were killed and another woman was severely injured after a car hit them in Mutga-Nilaji village in the district.

The deceased are identified as Savita Balakrishna Patil (44) and Vidya Bhau Patil (48), residents of Mutga village, while Shantha Krishna Chowgale (55) was seriously injured in the accident.

The deceased Vidya was serving in the Indian Army in Kochi, Kerala, while Savita Patil and her husband are ex-army soldiers.

DCP Yashoda Vantagodi said that BJP Youth Morcha leader, Yuvraj Jadhav was traveling from Belavavi to Sambra in a car and lost control of the vehicle and hit the three women pedestrians. Later, the car eventually rammed into a wall of a house nearby.

Crime Branch DCP Yashoda Vantagodi, Rural ACP Shivareddy, Mirihala Station Inspector Vijayakumar Sinnura, and staff visited the site.
