Hubli: Amid Covid-19, Face masks and shields have become mandatory. While some people are opting for surgical or cloth masks, a few are coming up with new ideas to make masks more efficient.
Now, Srinivas Reddy, an engineer from Nitte has designed a mask using plastic bottles with mike and Speaker.
Reddy used 3 plastic bottles and as Covid-19 spreads through fluids and particles charcoal powder has been used as it has great moisture absorbing properties, and also in order to prevent any fluid from entering nose or mouth cotton has been used.
Earlier, similar kind of mask was designed but it had many faults as people were finding it difficult to communicate wearing the mask, and to avoid such hindrances, Reddy designed this mask with a mike and speaker.
Srinivas Reddy said, “The reason I developed this mask is because I wanted people to wear good quality masks. People can make this mask at home but if they find it difficult to attach mike and speaker then the mask can be worn without this function too as the main function of the mask is to prevent fluids from entering your mouth and nose”
Reddy used 800 MAH rechargeable battery and he said once charged it can be used for 2-3 days. The mask cost him around Rs 260.
