After almost two months, domestic flights resumed from Bengaluru on May 25. Thermal screening has been made mandatory in several places and passengers, who developed fever and cold symptoms, admitted to taking paracetamol tablets before thermal screening and confirm entry into flights

While the screening is mainly to diagnose symptoms of the virus to contain further spread, the passengers reportedly practice this method to show low body temperature.

Also, A passenger took paracetamol before his flight from Dubai to Mangaluru and tested positive for coronavirus three days later.

However, Karnataka government has said the trick won’t work as the effects wouldn’t stay for long and symptoms will reappear.

Dr Bindumathi P L, Sr. Consultant, Internal Medicine, Aster CMI Hospital said such a practice, especially in times of a pandemic, is definitely not good as by doing this, an individual is putting others, including his/her family members and kin at risk of contracting the virus.
