Academic classes will not start from July 1: Minister Suresh Kumar

Bengaluru: Primary and secondary education minister Suresh Kumar stated that schools will not reopen on July 1, which is the intended date.
The minister clarified that a decision regarding it will be taken in the parents-teachers meeting to be conducted in the schools. The decision will be finalized and submitted to the central government for approval later.
Speaking to Udayavani, about the confusion in the reopening of the schools, Minister Suresh said no decision has been made regarding the reopening of schools in the State.
He further said that only the intended date for the beginning of the school year has been declared. In the meantime, all schools have been instructed to hold a meeting of headteachers, parents, education officers and supervisory committees.
The decision taken at these meeting will be submitted to the department through SATS and will also be sent to the central government. The State will also take a decision on this. Until then, the schools will not start its academic activities.
The government is aware that parents are not ready to send children to primary and pre-primary schools immediately. Similarly, no decision is made in haste. That said, the children are well taken care of and not lined up for the private lobby.
