Covid 19: Udupi records biggest single-day spike with 204 new cases

Udupi: Udupi witnessed the biggest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases on Friday, June 5 with 204 people testing positive for the infection, raising the tally to 768, officials said.

The patients who tested positive today are Maharashtra returnees.

The district has witnessed a huge influx of people from Maharashtra following lockdown relaxations. The Covid 19 testing has been increased in the district.

Udupi tops the the list of positive cases, in the state with a total of 768 infections. Of this 82 persons have recovered and one death has been reported.
