515 new Covid 19 cases reported in K’taka

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 515 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday, June 5, taking the total number of infections in the state to 4,835. This is the biggest single-day jump in the number of Covid 19 cases in the state.
482 of these 515 new cases are returnees from other states, mostly from neighbouring Maharashtra while one is with international travel history.
As of June 5 evening, cumulatively 4,835 COVID-19 positive cases have been confirmed in the state, which includes 57 deaths and 1,688 discharges, the health department said in its bulletin.
The state presently has 3088 active cases, of which 13 are in ICU. 83 patients have been discharged on Friday.
Among the districts where the new cases were reported, Udupi accounts for 204, followed by Yadagir 74, Vijaypura 53, Kalaburagi 42, Bidar 39, Belagavi 36, Mandya 13, Bengaluru Rural 12, Bengaluru 10, Dakshina Kannada 8, Uttara Kannada 7. Hassan, Dharwad and Chikkaballarpur reported 3 cases each, Haveri and Ramnagar 2 cases each while Davangere, Bagalkote, Ballari and Kolar reported one case each.
