‘Social bubbles’ can limit Covid-19 spread better than social distancing: Study

Amid Covid-19, people are struggling to get back to the normal lifestyle and experts now suggest a much smarter way to deal with the current scenario which is maintaining ‘social bubble’
A new study from the University of Oxford claims that a good way to reduce the spread of the infection is by creating ‘social bubbles’
What is Social Bubble
Social bubble is a close-set of people i.e. like family, with whom we interact on a regular basis. The concept is that it would permit restricted face-to-face meetings between households in the outdoors.
As things normalise, this bubble can grow larger. It can then include close friends and relatives and neighbours
The implication is that families will have to make the difficult decision to pick a specific bubble and stick to it. The need to maintain social distancing would also apply.
It is said that this form of strategic social distancing can help reduce the risk of transmission as you will only meet a few select people and avoid socialising at large.
