Bengaluru: Police on Sunday arrested JDS leader and Padarayanapura ward corporator Imran Pasha on charges of violating COVID-19 lockdown guidelines in a containment zone.
Pasha has been booked under the Disaster Management Act, 2005.
Earlier today Pasha took out a roadshow, in a containment zone following his discharge from Victoria Hospital, where he had been admitted after he tested positive for COVID-19.
The BBMP corporator and his supporters were seen violating the lockdown guidelines without maintaining any social distance or wearing masks.
Bengaluru Commissioner of Police Bhaskar Rao said that further action will be taken after ascertaining all information.
Chamarajpet MLA B Z Zameer Ahmed too condemned the irresponsible behaviour of Pasha. “I am happy to hear that Pasha has recovered. However I condemn the rally held by him. Action must be taken,” he tweeted.
