Mangaluru: City’s Pilikula Biological Park is likely to open for the public on June 9 or June 8.

“The Zoo is set to open almost after a three-month gap due to the COVID-19 lockdown. Mandatory wearing of face masks and thermal screening will be done before entering the zoo,” Park Director H J Jayaprakash Bhandary was quoted speaking to TOI.

Officials have also sanitized the park. Bhandary also informed that due to the lockdown the park is now highly dependent on the donors.

Animals were being tested by veterinary staff on a regular basis in the Zoo and so far there were no symptoms of COVID-19, informed sources.
