Bengaluru: Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa has given permission for DK Shivakumar’s ‘Prathigna’ event, during which the Congress leader will officially take charge as KPCC president. The new date for the event will be announced after discussions with party leaders.

In a tweet, DK Shivakumar thanked the chief minister for allowing to go ahead with ‘Prathigna’ event.

“Thank you @CMofKarnataka for permitting us to go ahead with ‘Prathigna’ event. A new date will be confirmed in due course after discussing with party leaders shortly,” Shivakumar tweeted.

The original swearing in of DK Shivakumar was planned for May 31, but was then cancelled owing to the lockdown norms. Two other dates (June 7 & June 14) were put forth by the Congress, but permission was denied for the political event again in view of COVID-19 guidelines.
