Karnataka: ‘Saptapadhi’ mass marriage ceremony likely before June end

Mangaluru: The State government’s mass marriage ceremony ‘Saptapadhi’ might be conducted before the end of June.
Kota Srinivas Poojary, the minister for religious endowment, has stated that the government is looking for an auspicious date to conduct the ceremony.
The ceremony was earlier planned on April 26 and May 24 across many Grade A temples under the department.
More than 4000 applications were received by the department for marriage. Each bride and groom will be receiving Rs 10,000 and Rs 5,000 respectively and an 8-gram gold mangalasutra.
