Mangaluru: Man killed after wall collapse in Gurpur

Mangaluru: A 52-year-old man was killed after the compound wall of his house collapsed on him near Gurpur-Kaikamba on Friday, June 12. This is the first rain-related death reported in Dakshina Kannada.
The deceased identified as Narayana Naik was a bus agent.
As per reports, a storm water drain, adjacent to his house was blocked following heavy rainfall. Naik was clearing the same when the compound wall fell on him.
Naik sustained head injuries in the mishap and died en route to the hospital.
Meanwhile, heavy rainfall has been predicted in the district and orange alert sounded for June 13 and 14.
