Bengaluru: The installation of new turf at the Bengaluru Football Stadium is fast progressing and will be completed in a week, said Karnataka State Football Association’s General Secretary M Satyanarayan.

Speaking to Udayavani on the telephone, Satyanarayan said, “The present turf was installed in the Stadium in 2011. The turf was given by FIFA, however, this time the Karnataka State Football Association has bought and installed the turf. The turf is worth Rs 1.75 crore. It had arrived from Italy right before the declaration of nationwide lockdown due to COVID-19.

In the wake of the increased COVID-19 cases in Italy, the turf is being used and installed with extreme precautions. It does not take much time to install turf and the entire work will be completed in a week’s time, he reiterated.
