Kalburgi: ASHA workers at Maramanchi village in Kamalapura taluk in the district here were attacked.
Fifteen people have been reported with COVID-19 at Maramanchi. All of them are Mumbai returnees. Officials, ASHA workers, medical staff and police personnel accompanied the ambulance to the village.
But relatives of the patient were offended by the arrival of the officials and stated that none of them are COVID-19 positive. They pelted stones at the officials and police vehicles, including the ambulance.
The officials escaped leaving behind the stone-pelted vehicles.
