Last month was Earth’s warmest May on record: NASA

May 2020 was Earth’s warmest May in at least 141 years of temperature records, continuing a warming trend that could make 2020 the planet’s warmest year.
It is said that earth was a little more 1.8 degrees warmer in May than the long-term average for the month
NOAA says May 2020 and May 2016 were tied for the warmest month on record but NASA puts last month ahead by 0.06°C.
However, the two agencies use different methods and algorithms to calculate temperature, so tiny discrepancies between their results are expected.
Also, Europe’s Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) found May 2020 was 0.05 degrees Celsius warmer than the previous record-warmest May in 2016.
Not only May, all five months of 2020 already rank in the top 20 hottest ever recorded and in the longer term, they reinforce a warming trend that is gripping the whole planet
