Recoveries exceed new COVID-19 cases on June 16; State tally rises to 7530

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 317 new cases of coronavirus as the tally of those infected rose to 7530 in the state on Tuesday, June 16

A total of 317 new cases, 322 discharges and seven deaths were reported in last 24 hours. As on June 16, 7530 cases of coronavirus have been confirmed of which 4456 persons have been discharged and 94 deaths have occurred, the health department said.

Among the new cases reported today 78 are international passengers while 108 are interstate passengers.

District wise Dakshina Kannada reported 79 new cases followed by Kalaburagi with 63 cases. Ballari accounted for 53 cases; Bengaluru – 47; Dharawad -8; Udupi & Shivamogga – 7; Yadagir and Raichur -6 Hassan – 5; Vijayapura, Mysuru, Gadag, Ramnagara, Chikkamagluru, Koppal reported 4 cases each; Belagavi – 3; Bidar – 2 and Tumkuru reported one case.

Five persons in Bengaluru died today taking the toll of those dead to 38 in the state capital. Ramangar and Bidar accounted for one death case each.
