New Delhi/ Bengaluru: The Supreme Court will hear a petition filed against the Karnataka High Court’s order declining to cancel the conduct Class 10 SSLC Board Examination amid COVID-19 pandemic.

A bench of Justices L Nageshwara Rao, Krishna Murari, and S Ravindra Bhat is scheduled to take up the special petition on Wednesday.

In the PIL, it is mentioned that the High court did not appreciate the fact that conducting the examination will risk the lives of nearly 8.48 lakh minor students and around 25 to 30 lakh people involved in conducting the examinations.

“This decision would violate the right to life and the health of minor students. However, such risks can be avoided by promoting the students based on internal assessment marks taken by the schools as it is already implemented in other states,” the petition said.
