Covid-19: K’taka reports 204 new cases v/s 348 discharges; undivided DK reports 12 cases

Bengaluru: Karnataka reported 204 new cases of coronavirus and eight fatalities on Wednesday, June 17

In the last 24 hours, 348 persons have recovered, while 204 tested positive for the infection and eight persons died, the health department said in its bulletin.

A cumulative 7734 cases of coronavirus has been confirmed of which 4804 persons have been discharged and 102 persons have died. Presently 2824 cases are active in the state of which 72 are in ICU.

Among the new cases today, 106 are interstate passengers while two are international passengers.

District wise Bengaluru accounted for 55 case, Yadagiri 37 cases, Ballari – 29; Bidar – 12; Dakshina Kannada and Dharwad reported 8 cases each; Mandya- 7; Hassan – 5; Udupi, Bagalkote and Shivamogga reported 4 cases each; Davangere, Chikkaballarpur and Uttara Kannada reported 3 cases each. One case each was reported from Raichur, Mysuru and Bengaluru Rural.

Five patients in Bengaluru succumbed to the infection today taking the death tally in state capital to 43. The other deaths were reported from Ballari, Shivamogga and Bidar.

Udupi tops the districts in positive cases with 1039 cases. Notably it also tops in number of discharges with 904 persons having recovered.

In Dakshina Kannada, 378 cases have been confirmed of which 225 are active, as per the state heath bulletin figures.
