Krishna river overflowing after heavy rains

Banhatti: Due to heavy rainfall in Maharashtra, the Krishna river is overflowing at the Rajapur basin and Koyna dam.

Farmers in Vijayapura, Belgaum and Bagalkot districts heaved a sigh of relief with the excessive water available now.

A total of 44,000 cusecs of water is flowing into Hipparagi reservoir on Thursday. A similar number of water quantity is being released from the reservoir. The water level in the reservoir is at present 521.60 m.
