Chitradurga: Home Minister Basavaraj Bommai in a retort to Siddaramaiah stated that the people of the State from time to time have shown what is the power of Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and that is why he (Siddaramaiah) is now sitting as the Leader of Opposition.
Speaking to reporters at Chitradurga, he further said that CM Yediyurappa has brought the highest grant from the Centre. Rs 4300 crore of the GST was given to the State.
Bommai replied to the unease expressed by H Vishwanath for not receiving the ticket to the Legislative Council by stating that Vishwanath has full confidence in the CM.
The minister also spoke on the treatment of COVID-19 patients in private hospitals as the number of COVID-19 cases in the State is increasing.
They have been treated in government hospitals until now, but now there is a need to find an alternative for their treatment, he added.
In the cabinet meeting last week there was a discussion on asking private hospitals to allocate beds for COVID-19 treatment. A decision on this will be taken in the cabinet meeting on Thursday, he said.
