Bantwal: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has written to the Deputy Commissioner to orders a 20-day traffic ban on the BC Road-Jakribettu highway in wake of the road construction work being undertaken there.
A delegation from the NHAI led by the EE G N Hegde and AEE H P Ramesh inspected the highway on Tuesday and noted that concrete works on one side of the highway for 7 metres will take a couple of days and curing will take about another 20 days.
During the ban, heavy vehicles travelling from BC Road to Belthangay can use the BC Road-Guruvayanakere highway. Light vehicles can travel via Bantwal town, the letter recommends.
